At gas station convenience stores, you may encounter rows of what appear to be slot machines. They take your money, spin a wheel and pay out vouchers that can be cashed at the counter – although Wisconsin law states only tribal casinos may legally operate slot machines, these machine-like games still fall into an unclear legal grey area that the courts have yet to resolve; yet they rake in plenty of revenue for gas station convenience stores.
Ryan Krull reports from St. Louis that a man was arrested on felony theft charges for altering a $100 bill so it could be used repeatedly to cheat video slot machines at several gas stations within St. Louis area.
